The site provides detailed information about city living, including in-depth neighborhood profiles, tips and information regarding purchasing a home and links to events in the area. It also connects with Facebook and Twitter accounts. The site's visitors can search Real Estate listings by using the "Find a Neighborhood" feature provided by REALTOR.com® and OwnaHomeMN.org. LiveMSP.org has a social networking element by allowing residents to share their interest in city living, and search for home renovation loan and grant programs and local entertainment.

The Web site is funded by the Family Housing Fund, a non-profit organization that seeks to provide safe, affordable and sustainable homes to families in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
